baby teeth
Your child's baby teeth are important for speech development, chewing, and
appearance. They also help guide the permanent teeth to the correct position in
the dental arch.
Many parents are unaware that children as young as 12 months can begin to
develop serious tooth decay, and yet with regular care and innovations such as
fissure sealants, tooth decay is now almost entirely preventable.
We suggest that your child's first dental visit be scheduled by 12 months so
that preventive care can begin.
At the first visit you will be shown how to effectively clean your infant's
teeth. Dr. Tim will also examine your child's teeth and make recommendations
regarding feeding practices, fluoride, and teething.
emergencies
When children fall and injure their front teeth, immediate attention and care
are necessary. Dr. Tim or a cooperating dentist can be paged at any time by
calling the office number.
